Driving around in an original, limited edition G500 cabriolet from 2006 garnered so much love and attention, we thought it would be cool to merge a modern G with that old school, true spirited open air look. 

Convertible Builders LLC  in Florida has  been converting cars for nearly 50 years from the Pope Mobile to celebrities to the King of Thailand.  They've done Rolls Royce, Ferrari and almost 2000 Dodge Challengers.  Their 13 acre facility is second to none in terms of resources, know how and best practices to turnkey a conversion like this at a reasonable price.  Our aim is to make a GCabrio accessible to a discerning G Wagon enthusiast balancing exclusivity with value.

2019-current G63/550/580 conversion is $69,999 or you can check our G63 Cabrio  link above to buy a completed G ready for immediate delivery.  We will regularly offer completed models as well as accept orders for new G wagons with factory specs from Mercedes + our conversion.

4-5  Weeks after we receive the car. We'll help you arrange for shipping back and forth to/from High Springs, Florida ( Just North of Orlando ). You pay the shipper directly.

- Precision cut and remove the factory roof, rear side and back windows and pillars

- Reinforce the chassis with a body matching stabilizer

- Install a remote controlled motorized auto-locking canvas roof

- Install a new triangular body panel with molded border behind the C pillar on both sides

- Upholster an alcantara lining across the top of the open cabin

- Modify the rear trunk door with brake light relocation.

- Install a new folding rear view plastic window.

- Install an open/close button discreetly above the visor

- Finish paint and trim to complete areas above A-pillars

- Provide a remote control to open/close the top nearby

Convertible Builders  does not modify, alter or tamper with any existing Mercedes mechanicals, electrical systems, suspension, wheels etc. other than access power from the fuse box for the top up/down button ( similar to any standard 3rd party accessory power connection) and chassis mods listed above. Mercedes Benz and third party warranty issues are between the Owner and the issuer of the warranty. 

3 years parts and labor for everything we did for the conversion above.  If you need service we will direct you to a local mechanic in your area and send them any parts and instruct them how to address any issue you have.  We will pay them directly to service the car on our behalf. 

We'll help you arrange for your G to be picked up and delivered to us for conversion central Florida as well as returned when completed. You contract with and  pay  the transporter directly since they are independent of us. We'll help coordinate to make it easy for all sides.

Not yet.  It's a different chassis and requires different engineering.  It's on our roadmap for 2026.

 If you convert yours and decide to sell it later, the market place already supports rarity premium pricing.  We plan to only offer a limited run to maintain that premium.
